The 2003 Tiburons (Specially made before April 1st 2002) had a pretty terrible finish on them. The paint used was also fairly chintzy. Granted I am missing paint on my driver and passenger door jams (at the bottom) there is zero rust on my car what so ever.With one of you pulling the hood release, the other can try either pushing down on the front of the hood, or lifting up. Once it's open, you can see what's wrong. At a minimum you likely need to lube the lock on the chassis & the cable.
